In the finale, Five and his siblings are close to death when they find the sigil at Hotel Obsidion and the place turns into some type of energy force field that Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) is controlling. Our present-day Five is still alive throughout season 3, even to the end. So yes, Number Five does actually die in The Umbrella Academy season 3. However, it’s a different timeline version of Five and not the one we’ve been following since season 1. He mentions the word “oblivion” before passing away. Young Five does not accept this, understandably, but before he can get more answers, Old Five starts to fade.
